This Privacy Policy explains how Duco Media (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit ducoblank.com or request our free eBook and course. We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applicable provincial privacy laws (including Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, and the private-sector laws of Alberta and British Columbia), and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
1. Accountability
We are responsible for personal information under our control. Our person in charge of the protection of personal information (Privacy Officer), as required under Quebec law, is Marie-Claire Tremblay, reachable at privacy@ducoblank.com or by mail at the address above.
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us: first name, email address and province or territory when you submit our eBook form, plus anything you send us when you contact us.
- Consent records: the date and time, IP address and wording of the consent you gave, which we keep as proof of consent as required by CASL.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed and referring page, collected through server logs and, with your consent, analytics cookies.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 14, and our services are intended for adults.
3. Why we collect it (purposes)
- To deliver the free eBook and give you access to the course;
- To send you educational emails, updates and offers about print on demand and related products, where you have consented;
- To operate, secure and improve our website and training;
- To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations, including keeping records of consent.
4. Consent
We collect, use and disclose personal information only with your knowledge and consent, except where the law permits otherwise. By ticking the consent box on our form you give express consent to receive electronic messages from us. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide some services.
5. Commercial emails (CASL)
Every commercial electronic message we send identifies us as the sender, includes our mailing address and contact details, and contains a working unsubscribe mechanism. We process unsubscribe requests without delay and no later than 10 business days.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, such as email delivery, website hosting and analytics providers, under contracts requiring them to protect it and use it only for our purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or to protect our rights.
7. Storage and transfers outside Canada
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and accessible to its courts and authorities. Where required, such as for Quebec residents, we assess the privacy risks of such transfers before they occur.
8. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Subscriber details are kept while you remain subscribed and for a limited period after you unsubscribe, solely to honour your unsubscribe request and to evidence consent. When no longer needed, information is securely destroyed or anonymized.
9. Security
We use reasonable physical, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (and, where applicable, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec), and keep a record of the breach.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, and withdraw consent. If you live in Quebec, you may also request that we cease disseminating or de-index your information, and request a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used technological format. Send requests to privacy@ducoblank.com. We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity first.
11. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.
12. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, please contact our Privacy Officer first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy regulator.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice on this website.
